Moore Booking Strengthens Claims Of Galvanise

Wednesday’s UK meetings are at Haydock, Beverley, Yarmouth, Hamilton and Kempton. Ryan Moore partners Sir Michael Stoute’s Galvanise, in the 3.40 at Haydock. The Newmarket experiment didn’t work out, but the drop back in trip to a mile can reap dividends for the Medaglia D’oro colt.

Both debutants are best watched, in the 2.00 at Beverley, as a couple of other runners have already shown potential and can be expected to improve further. Springforth’s 2nd-place at Ripon means Richard Fahey’s juvenile will surely start as favourite, but Tom Dascombe’s Charlie Beer Punt is preferred. He ran well at Brighton and despite subsequent defeats for 2 of the horses that beat him, the form still looks reasonably solid.

First Noel?

Some handy fillies will be flying around the track at Yarmouth, in the 3.20. The winner will probably be either Blossomtime, Bargain Buy, Singyoursong or World’s Greatest, but an each-way punt on Alyaa looks in order here. The Iffraaj-sired horse performed well at Newmarket and the in-form Noel Garbutt claims 5lb.

The opener at Hamilton (6.15) is for amateur riders and Simon Walker will fancy his chances of getting another win on-board Giant Spark. A taking performance led to a commanding victory at Redcar and the partnership can just about see off what is likely to be a strong challenge from Ruth Carr’s Hab Reeh (winner of this race in 2013 and 2014).

Take The Mickey!

Jordan Uys doesn’t get too many good opportunities, so his mind should be very-much on the job today at Kempton (8.30). Mickey Haller took a keen hold and was later hampered, when finishing 5th here last month. A cooler head and a little more luck in-running should produce a competitive performance and Uys is claiming 7lb. Dutch Art Dealer is now back on a winnable mark and must also go close.

Rehana Ready For Work

2-year-old followers will have an eye on the first race at Fairyhouse today (2.05), where the Aga Khan’s much-talked-about Rehana takes to the stage. The Dark Angel filly has a G1 Moyglare Stud entry and even a green debut may not be enough to stop her winning at the first time of asking. Lady Beware and Magical Fire look the best of the runners with some experience. There’s also racing at La Teste (France) and Scottsville (South Africa).
