The High Chaparral gelding can bounce back though.

Marquee Club has hardly hit the ground running as a juvenile, but finally managed to notch last time out at Lingfield. He should follow-up, in the 1.50 at Brighton.

Hardstone’s Worth The Weight

The 3.40 at Pontefract is an opportunity for Hardstone to get a disappointing 5-year-old campaign back on track. Despite showing poor form, he now looks exceptionally well-treated by the handicapper.

Fortune Of War looks primed for a first win, in the 5.50 at Yarmouth. The Sixties Icon colt finished less than a length behind odds-on favourite Majoris, at Brighton. Jane Chapple-Hyam’s charge finished almost 5 lengths ahead of Racemaker, who has since won twice.

Surely, Moor’s Not This Poor?

The 8.10 at Kempton catches the eye, purely for the fact that Moorside is running in this Class 5 maiden. The Champs Elysees filly was 2nd in the Listed Cheshire Oaks, only 3 months ago and her inclusion here is a bit of a puzzle (even though she was very disappointing at Leicester and has been off the track since that run). Unless something is seriously amiss, she should win comfortably.

Sligo has a very good card, with Dermot Weld’s Alishan (Rock Of Gibraltar) looking a very good bet in the Glasshouse Hotel Handicap (7.30). Jim Bolger’s Ringside Humour can defy top-weight and win the Glasshouse Hotel Handicap at 8.30.
