There are 3 Group races at Goodwood, on Wednesday, beginning with the G3 Gordon Stakes at 2.35. Highland Reel won this last year for Aiden O’Brien and he has Shogun running for him this time. His last 3 races have been G1 affairs and he can benefit from this drop in class.

The Gurkha Is Going For Gold

The G1 Sussex Stakes is at 3.10 and it should be a fantastic race. Galileo Gold and The Gurkha face each other once again, in what is shaping up to be the rivalry of the season. The Gurkha found trouble in-running, the last time they met and is taken to exact revenge by the narrowest of margins.

The 3.45 is the G3 Molecomb Stakes, with Mark Johnston’s The Last Lion dominating the betting. Nayyar looks well worth an each-way flutter, in this one. Charlie Hills’ Exceed And Excel colt was slowly away, on debut, yet he still won comfortably at the expense of Sheila’s Palace.
