5 UK Meetings, Today
Get ready for a busy Wednesday, as there are 5 UK meetings to check out. They take place at Ayr, Bath, Warwick Kempton and Southwell.
Anne’s Class Can Tell, At Ayr
The 4.55, at Ayr, is a 5f handicap. Classy Anne can be expected to improve, following an outing at Musselburgh last month. She benefits from Joe Doyle’s 3lb claim and won this race last year off a 6lb lower mark. Anonymous Lady has been in pretty good nick and recently won over this trip, although it was at a lower grade. Soie D’leau has been placed on a couple of occasions this year and should be there or thereabouts.
There’s also a 5f sprint, at Bath (4.40), for juveniles. The Nazca Lines should enjoy the quick ground and emerged with some credit when 4th at York, just last week. Battash is by Dark Angel and came with a 200,000gns price-tag. Watch market moves. Awesome Allen has only been seen on much softer ground and receives a penalty for winning at Windsor.
Diamond To Glitter, At Warwick
Warwick’s 5.05 has 12 runners, competing over hurdles and a distance of 2m. Mikey Hamil’s 7lb claim makes Canadian Diamond very tempting to back, with the ground unlikely to trouble him. Heath Hunter can be expected to run well without winning, while Samtu is on a 6lb higher mark and is upped in grade. Tawelya was a faller at Haydock but could run a big race.
The 7.25, at Kempton sees Tangramm bid for a 5th victory in a row, although now over a higher mark and much higher grade. Almodovar doesn’t look especially well treated, with a 6lb rise for finishing runner-up at Pontefract last season. Petrucci shaped well when going close on his handicap debut and Sir Michael Stoute’s runner has a decent chance on his reappearance.
Such A Legend did enough, when finishing 2nd at Exeter, to suggest he should go very well in the 6.15 at Southwell. High Ron looked in excellent form, when winning at Uttoxeter, although the trip might be a little sharp for him. Dursey Sound and Somchine have both won on this course before and Cody Wyoming should be in the shake-up too.
Further Action, At Dundalk, Saint-Cloud & Greyville
The evening card at Dundalk begins at 6.05, with a maiden auction for 2-year-olds. There are 7 races, in all, with a 2m handicap concluding matters at 9.05. There are 8 races at Saint-Cloud and 9 at Greyville.
