Richard Hannon’s Limelite made a pleasing debut at Goodwood and (despite looking a little one-paced) can win at the 2nd time of asking today (Lingfield 5.50). Ryan Moore has been booked for the ride and only the unraced Rebecca Rocks looks a real threat. The Exceed And Excel filly is out of a Listed winner and probably has the best long-term potential of all 8 runners.

There’s also juvenile action in the 2.15 at Salisbury, which looks a fairly open contest. Hellofahaste made a favourable impression at Goodwood, while the bargain-basement Moneyoryourlife also had a fine debut at Lingfield. Mr Hobbs is the blog pick, though. The 8.35 at Southwell is a Class 3 handicap hurdle and could well provide the best racing we’ll see today. Lady Of Longstone does not yet appear to be back on a winning mark and neither does Western Way. Party Rock and Moidore are both threats, but Mr Santu should benefit greatly from his outing at Warwick and can notch for Jonjo O’Neill.
There’s no Irish action, sadly, but there are decent cards at both Saint-Cloud and Compiegne. Today’s South Africa meeting is at Vaal.
