Spirit Can Pour It On

Spirit Of Sarwan looked to be progressing very nicely indeed, when beating Bayston Hill at Brighton. The Elzaam colt should be too good for the other raced runners, in the 2.00 at Beverley. Debutant, Steel Helmet, looks a bigger threat as he is a half-brother to 6 winners.

The 3.15 at Brighton is a 5f handicap and this looks like a great opportunity for in-form apprentice Tom Marquand (claiming 3lb). Whitecrest won over course and distance, at the beginning of June and can beat off the likely challenge from Ginzan.

Bright Future For Good Time Ahead

Richard Fahey’s Good Time Ahead should score at the second time of asking, in the 7.10 at Leicester. He was green and all over the track, at Hamilton, but made eye-catching progress over the final furlong and looked the fastest horse in the race by a mile. Nature Boy is an interesting debutant, being a half-brother to Black Dave.

The 6.00 at Newton Abbot (which has the best UK card of the day) is the first of two Class 3 races and it’s over hurdles. With an official rating of 133, this should be a walk in the park for Paul Nicholls’ German inmate Moabit. Sam Twiston-Davies is in the saddle again and it will be a huge shock if the 4-year-old fails to win.

The feature at Ballinrobe is a classy handicap for fillies (7.50) and Queen Alphabet will be taking on Henry’s Girl and Little Stampy. There are 9 races at both Dieppe and Kenilworth.
