Eva So Quick
Thursday is Day 2 of York’s Ebor Festival, with 3 of the 6 races really standing out. Roger Charlton’s Eva is one of the most promising looking 2-year-olds to have emerged in this campaign and will begin the G2 Lowther Stakes (2.30) as a strongly-backed favourite. She already has the G3 Princess Margaret Stakes under her belt, winning by 4 lengths despite taking a keen hold. Queen Kindly or Roly Poly should get the best view of her hind-quarters, when this extremely promising Frankel-sired juvenile goes past the winning post.

Found To Fall Short, Once Again?
The G1 Yorkshire Oaks (3.40) is the feature and Aidan O’Brien’s runners look set to dominate. Found has had to settle for 2nd place in her last 3 encounters (all G1) and may have to play the bridesmaid once again, as stablemate Seventh Heaven arrives fresh off the back of winning the G1 Irish Oaks at the expense of Architecture. This should be an absorbing duel, but don’t rule out Endless Time either. The Sea The Stars-sired runner has one 6 of her 8 races, including the G2 Lancashire Oaks last time out at Haydock.

Pandora Must Box Clever, From The Outset
The Listed Galtres Stakes (4.20) looks very competitive, with strong cases to be made for Abingdon, Twitch, Glamorous Approach and Tiptree. Pandora looks well-worth an each-way flutter, in this one, despite her infuriating habit of starting races poorly. This didn’t prevent her from winning a Class 3 handicap on the Knavesmire, back in June, but did for her in the Listed Lyric Stakes (again at York) in July. She’ll finish this contest like a proper racehorse and can even win it if she leaves the gate like one.
There are further UK meetings at Chepstow, Stratford, Fontwell and Hamilton. Killarney plays host to 7 races, with the Kingdom Gold Cup Handicap (6.20) very-much topping the bill. Asbury Boss looks capable of going close, having made sharp progress since the spring. Le Vagabond is another to consider, as he’ll relish the longer trip.
