Meetings will be held at Goodwood, Redcar, Perth and (later this evening) Kempton. Goodwood’s Listed Foundation Stakes (3:45pm) tops the bill and it’s certainly a competitive renewal. Cases can be made for Frankuus, Born To Be Alive, Promising Run, John Gosden’s Monarchs Glen and several others.
Ireland
Slope-off to Sligo, where there are 7 races and a decent handicap at 3:15pm. Danny Mullins rides Presenting Mahler. The mare won impressively, at Listowel, but can she call the tune again with a 6lb hike?
South Africa
The first of 8 Durbanville encounters gets underway, at 11:55am. It’s a maiden for fillies and Brett Crawfords Depeche looks to have a better chance of getting off the mark, than most.
France
There’s an excellent jumps card, at Auteuil, with Demi Sang taking on Vittel Menthe and Guillaume Macaire’s Diligent in the Prix Julien Decrion (2:05pm). 7 of the 9 races have purses close to, or greater than, €50,000!
Hong Kong
Happy Valley is where it’s happening and Zac Purton steers Chor Hong Yip’s Starlight, in the Citi Sprint Challenge Cup (2:45pm). There are 8 races, in all. Joao Moreira partners the consistent Thunder Stomp, in the Verbena Handicap (3:15pm), while Neil Callan takes the reins of Richard Gibson’s similarly-reliable Powermax in the Wistaria Handicap (3:50pm).
