Here’s what race fans can look forward to, on Tuesday.
UK
There are UK meetings at Goodwood, Hamilton, Kempton, as well as jumps action at Hexham. Goodwood stands out, with strong handicap races at 2:40pm (GMT), 3:15pm and 3:50pm. The 3:15pm is for 2-year-olds and David Probert will be on-board Andrew Balding’s Golden Salute.
Ireland
Grab your bucket and spade, as it’s the day for our annual trip to Laytown – where races actually take place on the beach! Those of a nautical persuasion might well be tempted to back Captain Bob, in the first race at 5:05pm!
South Africa
Trot off to Turffontein, where the first of 8 races starts at 11:55am. Piere Strydom will partner Trifecta and the 4-year-old gelding looks very much in contention.
France
There are meetings at Nancy (starts 11:10am) and Maisons-Laffitte (starts 3:05pm), where the card is more-impressive. Andre Fabre’s Usherette will be the star attraction, in the Listed Prix de la Cochère (3:40pm). The Listed Prix Joubert (5:10pm) will feature top Godolphin prospect Morgan Le Faye.
Italy
There are 8 races at Rome and a 33,000 EUR purse baits the hook, in the Premio Orsa Maggiore at 3:20pm.
Sweden
It’s a big evening at Bro Park (starts 5:00pm), culminating in the 500,000 SEK Bro Park Classic (8:45pm). This looks like being a duel between Arctic Run and Jessica Long’s Freestyler.
Turkey
We have a brace of meetings to look forward to, with Diyarbakır kicking-off at 12:00pm and Kocaeli beginning at 4:30pm.
