Saturday’s Big Races
There are a number of big races taking place, on Saturday. William Haggas’ Learn By Heart is among the favourites, for the Listed Denford Stakes (Newbury 1:50pm).
Defoe takes on Frontiersman, in the G3 Geoffrey Freer Stakes (Newbury 2:25pm), before last year’s 2000 Guineas runner-up – Massaat – finally returns to the track for the G2 Hungerford Stakes (Newbury 3:35pm).
The Great St Wilfred Handicap (Ripon 3:15pm) looks red-hot and will feature the likes of Growl, Shanghai Glory and Pipers Note.
At Newmarket, the 2:45pm is another strong handicap (runners include Merlin, Dakota Gold and Tommy Taylor) as is the 4:30pm (Second Wave, Danehill Kodiac, Amazing Red and others).
