Will The Celebration Mile Make Cox Pop A Few Corks?
The G2 Celebration Mile will take place at Goodwood, on Saturday 27th August.
Thikriyaat was successful here, last time out, in the G3 Thoroughbred Stakes and is likely to go off as favourite. However, runner-up Forge’s subsequent failure in the G3 City Of York Stakes could mean the value lies elsewhere.
Clive Cox’s Zonderland didn’t have a great deal to beat in the G3 Sovereign Stakes, once Massaat crumbled 2f out, but the Dutch Art colt previously impressed when winning the Listed Heron Stakes.
Toormore’s prime may well be now in its autumn, but the Arakan-sired horse has a superb record in races below G1 status and cannot be ruled out. Lightning Spear, So Beloved, Hathal, Gabrial and Breton Rock have also received market-support.

Idaho Looking Good To Go
On Saturday 10th September, the G1 St Leger Stakes will be renewed at Doncaster Racecourse.
Aidan O’Brien’s Idaho has emerged as the strongly-backed favourite, for the last of the 5 English Classic encounters. The Galileo colt was a worthy winner of the G2 Great Voltigeur Stakes and looks the one to beat.
John Gosden’s Muntahaa is an emerging talent. After losing his maiden tag at Kempton, the grey finished 3rd in the G2 King Edward VII Stakes before narrowly getting the better of Duretto in the Listed Chester Stakes.
Plenty of other horses are attracting each-way support, including Red Verdon, Sword Fighter, Housesofparliament, Wings Of Desire, Across The Stars, US Army Ranger and Algometer.
Bet On The St Leger Stakes Now!Irish Champion Stakes Hopes For Harzand
Saturday 10th September will be one of the biggest days of racing, this season, as the G1 Irish Champion Stakes will also be held (Leopardstown). Golden Horn was last season’s winner.
This year, it will be Harzand’s turn to try and make it an Epsom Derby and Irish Champion Stakes double. Victory over Idaho, in the G1 Irish Derby last time out, indicate there is much more to come from this exciting Sea The Stars colt.
Found still has plenty of followers, but the 4-year-old is becoming expensive to back. Yet another 2nd place could well be on the cards.
Others that are attracting interest include Almanzor, Minding, Fascinating Rock, Time Test, Hawkbill, The Grey Gatsby and Deauville.
