Robert Cowell has a terrific record at Kempton and especially in sprint races, so no surprise to see him have yet another live chance here tonight with Ballistic in this 7f handicap. The horse was beaten less than a length in third behind the Richard Hannon trained Black Medick last time out and that was his third solid effort in this sort of company. Tonight’s race looks slightly easier and given he is now battle hardened for the run, he will be primed to go very close tonight and he gets the nod. Archie Watson’s Toffee Galore would be the main threat stepping into this grade for the first time and he is open to any sort of improvement.
BALLISTIC (WIN) – NAP
The fantastically named Choochoobugaloo looks the bet of the day for Wednesday after a ten length success last time out and he is actually 7lbs ahead of the handicapper turned out again quickly here under a penalty for what looks a great opportunity to follow up. Jonathan England retains the ride for his father Sam and given the manner of that Kelso success, he looks primed to land the double here. Donald McCain’s Toboggan Fire would rate as the main danger and is potentially well treated dropped in grade, but his recent record is patchy at best.
