He has also won second time out in each of the previous two seasons and will likely be poised to strike here so gets the nod. The main danger will be the Keith Dalgleish trained Senor Lombardy who returns hurdling having struggled in novice chasing ranks. He was a decent novice hurdler and will give the selection something to think about.

An unexposed Military Law looks the one to beat in this one with the mighty John Gosden looking to start 2019 with a winner. The Dubawi gelding looks primed for action after just being touched out last time returning from over a year off and he can show his class to land the spoils here. The more experienced Michele Strogoff is the clear danger and comes here seeking a hat trick, but would need a soft lead to pinch this one so the Gosden horse is the clear pick.
