Goring has won five from ten when racing on an all-weather surface, including a win and a second from two prior runs at Wolves, and was a decent fourth at Listed level last time out, only losing out on second in the final strides. Today’s race takes place over a slightly shorter trip so a similar run should see victory today.
Hathal has won at both Listed and Group 3 level on turf and proved he handles a synthetic surface with a solid second to Flaming Spear in a Listed contest at Kempton in November. Today sees a step up in trip but he would have to be considered regardless and rates the biggest danger to Goring.
A final mention goes to Carry On Deryck who has first run for Ollie Pears. He hasn’t been seen since some underwhelming efforts at Meydan last Winter but should find this easier than the Group 3 races he has been used to competing in and he has also had a wind op so cannot be discounted on return to the UK.

Jack Bear won this race last season but has been somewhat disappointing since. As a result he arrives here 2lbs lower than for that victory, although will need to step up on recent performances if he is to win this race for connections again.
Tidal Watch has placed twice at Wolves, both over twelve furlongs, and has won over further when tacking hurdles so should have no stamina concerns, although failed to land a blow over a two-mile trip at Lingfield last time out and now tries another new trip.
Given Choice won on only prior visit to Wolves but that came over a shorter trip than she encounters here. She was second over todays’ trip at Chelmsford last time out but had no chance with the winner and although could improve for that effort she may have to settle for minor honours again today.
Preference is for Yasir who has won seven times at Wolves and has made the frame in all five runs since being partnered with jockey David Probert, winning twice. He has gone up just 2lbs for victory last time out but gets weight from all his rivals and therefore looks to have an excellent chance of another course victory.
