Finnegan’s Garden won this race in 2017, one of two course and distance victories last season, and is partnered with Noel Fehily who was on board for one of these wins and boasts a 44% winning strike rate in the last three years over fences at the course. With conditions to suit he can gain another victory here today.
The most likely to put up a challenge is Chivers who has winning form in soft ground on the flat and gave the impression he would improve for the experience when fourth behind Kalashnikov last time out. He should continue to progress and rates a live danger.
A final mention goes to Muilean Na Madog who has pulled up on two prior runs in testing ground, but both these came over hurdles and his chase debut suggested he will make a better chaser than hurdler so he is afforded respect.

A Sure Welcome has done the majority of his winning here at Wolves so it would be no surprise to see another big run at his favoured course. That said, it has been a while since his last victory and he is still 2lbs above his best winning mark so he may have to settle for a minor role.
Dutiful Son is consistent over this trip and has dropped 3lbs below his last winning mark although seems to save his best for Lingfield, while Independence Day was less than a length behind the winner last time out but that came over the minimum trip and he is yet to convince over six furlongs so i’m happy to take a chance with Oriental Relation who has made the frame in four from six over course and distance. His last all-weather win came in December 2016 in a Class 3 off a mark of 81 so he is well-treated on old form and should be race-fit following a reasonable return last month, on first run since May, when three lengths behind the winner.
