Donald McCain – Weekend Runners

It was great to see Chuvelo win his bumper in fine style last weekend and it looks like we’ve got a nice prospect on our hands. Looking forward to this weekend, we send out five runners with Ormesher the pick of them at Southwell. Of our jump runners, Quids In would have the best chance.

All of my thoughts on our weekend runners can be read below:

Track: Kelso – 2:30
Jockey: Will Kennedy

He notoriously takes a couple of runs to get ready, he’ll love the ground and two miles over fences is his thing. That being said he normally takes a few runs to get fit, so there will be other days with him.

Quids In
Track: Kelso – 3:05
Jockey: Lorcan Murtagh

Two and a half around Kelso should be fine, he’s working nicely at home and he is just ready to get started. Obviously, it’s his first run of the season but he’d have a chance.

Hart Of Steel
Track: Kelso – 3:40
Lorcan Murtagh

He hasn’t been away yet so he’ll probably need the experience but I trained his brother for Mr McManus and we thought an awful lot of him. He’s a grand, honest, straightforward horse but he’s only young and may find one or two too good for him on debut.

Ormesher (In Front)

Track: Southwell – 5:40
Jockey: Ella McCain

Looking at the race he really should be winning this. Obviously, we don’t know anything about the top horse, he’s a four-year-old that’s never run. He’s never been to Southwell before but if he copes with it, he should be winning.

Sandy Street
Track: Southwell – 5:40
Jockey: Jack Garritty

We thought he was working ok and he went and really disappointed us the first day, so we are just giving him another run and hoping he shows more than he did on debut.

Best Chance: Ormsher
