We had a good start to the week with Ontthefrontfoot making it 2-2 over hurdles at Cartmel on Monday. He was a point to point winner in Ireland and seems to be progressing nicely. It’s going to be a quiet weekend with just the two runners on Saturday. My thoughts on both their chances can be read below:
Track: Hexham – 2:40
Jockey: Brian Hughes
This little horse gave me one of my biggest priced winners when taking his maiden at 100/1. He’s schooled very well at home and to be honest has been schooling for a long time. It’s the first juvenile hurdle of the year so I’d be hoping for a nice run. I have reservation about whether he wants soft ground but we’ll take our chance around and go from there.
Track: Stratford – 7:00
Jockey: Will Kennedy
Constancio, as most people know, is a little bit tricky and although on ratings he shouldn’t be winning, I think he’ll appreciate getting weight from all his rivals and going left-handed so he has a chance. I thought he’d win two starts back at Bangor but he was just denied and the ground was far too soft for him at Chester.
Best Chance: Constancio
