I was at Goffs during the week where we sold three horses, most notably Liva who’s now joined Barry Keniry where he will probably mix it on the flat and over hurdles. Its All A Lark is heading to the breeding shed and it’ll be nice to see Thyne For Gold go point to pointing.

I feel slightly sad selling these horses but in this game, you need to be constantly moving horses and thankfully this year we are in a position to be replenishing our stock and I bought three nice horses point to point horses and two stores to fill the void.

Of the point to pointers, Get In Robin was by far the most expensive purchase having won her maiden in good style at Fairyhouse for the Doyle’s. The other two geldings both finished runner-up in their most recent races behind very smart horses and look like good buys.

On the track, we had a nice win with Nayati on Saturday and he runs again this Sunday. However it was frustrating to see Armattiekan get beaten by what turned out to be a very well handicapped horse, that’s won three times since last Saturday. I have some decent chances again this weekend and you can read all my thoughts on each runner below:

Saturday

Graceland
Graceland
Track: Cartmel – 2:40
Jockey: Brian Hughes

Obviously she ran terrible the last day, so we have put a hood back on her, it’s the right way around and if she can get into a nice rhythm, I think she’ll run really well.

Our Kylie
Track: Cartmel – 2:40
Jockey: Abbie McCain

She’s a small mare that actually ran ok the last day as she really needed the run. She’s got plenty aches and pains but she’s been to Cartmel plenty of times so it was the obvious race to run her in but she might just need a little more help from the handicapper.

Sonic
Track: Cartmel – 3:50
Jockey: Brian Hughes

He’s not very big but he has schooled nicely at home. I think he may just get done for a little bit of toe because he is a good stayer and probably wants a little bit further but it’s a good starting point.

Tawseef (Yellow)
Tawseef
Track: Cartmel – 5:00
Jockey: Abbie McCain

He’s been running fine all year and I’m hoping that the ground isn’t too quick for him. I think he is slowly starting to come down to a more sensible mark but may need a little more help.

Morraman
Track: Cartmel – 5:35
Jockey: Abbie McCain

He’s been running well of late and two miles six furlongs will suit him well around there. The handicapper might just have him in his grips but he’ll run well and probably end up going chasing in the near future.

Good Tradition
Track: Cartmel – 5:35
Jockey: Harry Stock

It’s his first run back after a break, with the plan being for him to head to York in a couple of weeks for Harry’s sister to ride in a charity race in memory of her father Chris who owned him. He’ seems in good nick and is ready to start back and on his day he’s a very talented horse.

Sunday

Spin The Coin
Track: Kelso – 2:35
Jockey: Brian Hughes

If he jumps well then he’s got a chance. He’s been schooling well at home and although he may be a slight bit in between trips here but if he does everything correctly, it’s the right race for him.

Nayati
Nayati
Track: Kelso – 2:35
Jockey: Brian Hughes

He’s gone up four for winning last week which I think is fair and I know I’m going back quite quickly with him but the race is there and I just thought it was worth chancing. He won quite well the last day so let’s hope he can do it again.

Quids In
Track: Uttoxeter – 5:05
Jockey: Will Kennedy

He probably wants a little bit further than 2 miles three furlongs and if he doesn’t show much he’ll be having a bit of a holiday and come back in a fresh horse.

Promise Of Peace
Track: Uttoxeter – 5:40
Jockey: Lorcan Murtagh

He’s having his first run back since a wind op having run disappointingly at Newcastle back in March. I hope he runs well and we can make a plan from there.

Best Chance: Nayati
