It’s been a quiet week at Bankhouse with very few runners but it was great to see Mount Mews run so well at Wetherby on Saturday. Looking ahead to this weekend we are spread across three tracks on Saturday where Fin And Game can hopefully put in a big performance having not run his race at Aintree at the tail end of last season. On Sunday we head to Uttoxeter where Abbie could ride a winner aboard Princess Mononoke.
All of my thoughts on the weekend runners can be read below:
Saturday
Chelsea Flyer
Track: Huntingdon – 1:05
Jockey: Abbie McCain
He’s having his first run for me coming out of Emma Lavelle’s where he got hurt on his last start. So we are giving him a run over hurdles to just get his eye in and give him some confidence.
Same Circus
Track: Ascot – 1:30
Jockey: Theo Gillard
It’s another competitive Saturday race but its mares only over three miles which is what she wants. She toughed it out at Aintree the last day and Theo rides her again so she should go well.

Fin And Game
Track: Haydock – 1:50
Jockey: Brian Hughes
He’s a horse with a fair amount of ability but it looks like quite a competitive race which is unsurprising given the money on offer. They’ve had very little ran which would be a help and if the win-op helps then he’d have a chance.
Sunday
Shocona’s Joy
Track: Uttoxeter – 1:40
Jockey: Lorcan Murtagh
She was disappointing on her first start for me in bumper having run ok in a race of Irish point-to-points previously. I’m hoping she’ll show a bit more over hurdles but her future probably lies in handicaps.
Princess Mononoke
Track: Uttoxeter – 3:40
Jockey: Abbie McCain
The two miles here on deep ground is just what she wants so she’d have a live chance with Abbie onboard.
Best Chance: Princess Mononoke
