It’s been great to have runners again and get some routine back at Bankhouse. We have already had 3 winners in the past few days and we are getting much needed runs into some of the horses.

All eyes will be on Cheltenham next week but unfortunately it looks like we are not going to have many runners at the festival.

However, we do have a nice bunch of horses running this weekend and you can read my thoughts about them below:

Saturday

Chti Balko
Track:
Sandown – 2:25
Jockey: William Kennedy

He’s running here because it’s the first time he’s had a sensible weight really. He’s got his ground which is great and seems in good nick, so we will take a punt. He ran pretty well here last year, when he got slightly lost up the straight and then ran on again.

He’s a pound higher this year but he’s got a chance and if the race was run at Haydock, I’d really fancy him.

Mr McGo
Track:
Sandown – 4:10
Jockey: William Kennedy

These horses have just got to run, Sandown probably wouldn’t be my first choice but he was in the process of running a nice race last time when he was a little unfortunate. The ground and trip should suit and I’m looking forward to getting a run into him.

Uppertown Prince
Track:
Ayr – 4:30
Jockey: Brian Hughes

Obviously it’s all gone a bit pear shaped, with the ground being unsuitable for most of the season and then a sever lack of novices chases for him. We’ve now come to a point where there is no point continuing over fences this season, so we’re reverting back to hurdles here.

The trip is slightly on the short side for him and he’ll have to carry a fair chunk of weight but he’s got to run with a view to heading to Aintree.

Sunday

Doctor Jazz
Track:
Musselburgh – 2:00
Jockey: Brian Hughes

We were disappointed the last day and he scoped bad afterwards. Prior to that we had been happy with him and again we are happy with him now, so we just want to put that run behind us and look forward.

Liva

Liva
Track:
Musselburgh – 3:35
Jockey: Daryl Jacob

If he gets the trip, which he looks like he will then he’ll have a chance. The plan had been to go for the Fred Winter but he’s not going to get in. So we will head to Musselbugh and find out if he stays.

Pinch Of Ginger
Track:
Musselburgh – 4:10
Jockey: Henry Brooke

He’s been a long time waiting to run and has got two ways of running. On some of his best form he would have a chance as the race is very winnable but he doesn’t always turn up.

Cousin Oscar
Track:
Musselburgh – 4:40
Jockey: William Kennedy

Another horse that hasn’t has a lot of racing and he wasn’t in love with fences so we have come back hurdling with him. He possibly wants more of a test than two miles around Musselburgh but the race is there and he’d have a chance.

Danceintothelight
Track:
Musselburgh – 5:10
Jockey: Miss Abbie McCain

He has won here before but there are other tracks where he is more effective. I’m sure he’ll run his race and will be bang there towards the finish.

Best Chance: Liva
