Ascot International Stakes 2016

A huge day of racing takes place at Ascot, on Saturday, where the races include International Stakes (Heritage Handicap). Which horses are dominating the betting?

Librisa Breeze

The Mount Nelson gelding’s performance in the Royal Hunt Cup may well lead to the grey 4-year-old starting the race as the favourite. He finished runner-up to Portage and had previously won a Class 3 handicap at Wolverhampton.

Suzi’s Connoisseur

The 5-year-old has not won a race since October of 2014, but he impressed when finishing 2nd in the Silver Bunbury Cup at Headquarters earlier this month. He also finished as runner-up in a rich Ascot handicap, last September, so this Art Connoisseur-sired runner should go close.

Heaven’s Guest

Richard Fahey’s Dark Angel gelding disappointed here, when finishing 21st of 26 in the Victoria Cup. Since then, he’s been runner-up at both York and Newmarket, with the latter of those outings being in the Bunbury Cup. He also won this race last year and cannot be ruled out.
